Gwinnett Animal Hospital has recently welcomed a new tool into our surgery suite: the LigaSure. Dr. Connolly and the rest of the veterinary staff did their research, investigated reviews, and determined that the LigaSure would be a great addition to our practice.
The LigaSure is a technological advance in blood vessel sealing. It works by using the body’s own collagen and elastin to change the nature of the vessel to form a permanent seal.
Benefits that come with using the LigaSure instead of traditional suture:
- Shorter Surgery Times
- Reduction of blood loss during surgery
- Faster healing times
- Eliminated chances of internal suture reaction
The LigaSure can be used in a variety surgical procedures including:
- Ovariohysterectomy (Spay)
- Ovariectomy
- Orchidectomy (Neuter)
- Splenectomy (Spleen Removal)
- Limb Amputations
- Tumor Removals
